What we do at Mums Matter Psychology
Mums Matter Psychology is a private practice dedicated to providing affordable (partially bulk-billing) quality psychological services for pregnant and new mums (with children up to the age of 4 years).
We provide individual and group therapy to help with things like:
- Emotional distress around pregnancy or delivery
- Antenatal and postnatal depression
- Antenatal and postnatal anxiety
- Adjustment to parenthood
- Pregnancy or neonatal grief and loss
- Relationship difficulties
- Fertility issues
We work in partnership with council Maternal and Child Health services and maternity hospitals to ensure an integrated perinatal journey for our clients.
We are looking for great clinicians who would like to work a minimum of 10 client sessions per week via Telehealth from home (all the tools you need for this are provided)
What we can offer you
Working as an independent contractor you are offered the opportunity to:
- Provide individual therapy for pregnant and new mums, and group therapy if desired
- Work flexible hours completely at your choosing (which can include evenings and weekends if desired (full time or part-time) anywhere from 7am-10pm and be split however you like
- Leverage referrals from and liaise closely with midwives, maternal and child health nurses and GPs for integrated perinatal care
- Develop professionally through dedicated perinatal psychology training (both external and in-house), fortnightly group supervision, the option for individual supervision, and dedicated professional development events
- Work with and be supervised by Frances Bilbao (Clinical Psychologist), the 2020-2021 Allied Health Awards Psychologist of the Year and 2021 Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists Significant Contribution Award-winner with over 12 years experience in the Perinatal field
- Work in a culture of excellence amongst the 2020-2021 Allied Health Awards Adult Team of the Year, and 2022 Allied Health Awards Team Culture Excellence winner. We are also a certified “Great Place to Work”
- Monthly Psychiatry supervision
- Formal supervision of Clinical Psychology Registrar programs
- Focus on clinical work with extensive administrative support including appointment bookings, online diary and clinical note management, email and SMS reminders to clients
- Complete your clinical notes and administration from anywhere and at any time

About you
As a member of our team you will have:
- AHPRA registration for Psychologists
- Eligibility to provide Medicare services
- A keen interest in perinatal issues with well-developed general clinical skills (recent postgraduate psychology graduates welcome including Clinical Registrars – Supervision can be provided)
- Professional and Public Indemnity Insurance
- Australia Business Number (ABN)
- Ability to work independently and exercise initiative
- Ability to use simple online systems including diary, clinical notes and email
