Position Overview: A Role That Changes Lives

  • Job Title: Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • Location: Yallah NSW 2530
  • Employment Type: (We’re Flexible)
  • Reporting to: Director of Ability Links

Responsibilities: 

  • Influence Positive Change: Create and implement individualised Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Team Synergy: Work hand-in-hand with an interdisciplinary team to provide 360-degree support.
  • Be a Guide: Lead training sessions that empower staff and families.
  • Stay on the Cutting Edge: Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Continual Excellence: Periodically review and update support plans to align with best practices and individual needs.

Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to actively listen and build rapport.
  • Ability to work within a team and with other organisations.
  • Time management and administrative skills – multi-task and prioritise work.
  • Planning and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to write accurate and concise case notes and draft reports.
  • Open Drivers Licence (Travel to surrounding suburbs, including Nowra)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation (completed online in approximately 1 hour)
  • Working with Children’s Clearance
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (may be applied for at the post-interview stage).
  • Registration as a proficient or higher PBS Practitioner with the NDIS Commission.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline
  • Professional certification in Positive Behaviour Support or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of practical experience
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Valid Working with Children Check and Police Check
