The Role:
Based in our Broome clinic, you will provide a positive behaviour support service and will be an integral part of many complex case teams. Under the guidance and support of our Senior PBS Practitioner, you will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team (including Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Continence Physiotherapists, Dietitians and Mental Health Clinicians) to provide assessment and intervention to children and adolescents. You will undertake functional assessments in a variety of settings and evaluate and respond to all facets of risk in relations to a child’s behaviour. You will work closely with the key stakeholders in a child’s life to educate them on the child’s disability and teach consistent strategies to address behaviours such as verbal and physical aggression, self-injury, personal safety awareness and low motivation.
You will be supported by our Aboriginal Community Liaison to increase your cultural competence to develop strong relationships with culturally diverse families. This understanding will allow you to fine tune your service delivery to ensure a culturally appropriate and culturally safe service is provided. This role will provide you with the opportunity to deliver services face to face and via telehealth across the Pilbara, Kimberley and beyond, with exciting opportunities for occasional travel to beautiful locations such as remote Pilbara & Kimberley towns and Christmas & Cocos Islands.

About you:
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of provisional registration to practice in PBS with the NDIS, with experience working with children and adolescents with autism, FASD, Intellectual disability and/or developmental delays. You will have experience compiling interim and comprehensive behaviour support plans, functional behaviour assessments and have an in depth understanding of restrictive practice within the NDIS.
You will value the holistic approach to therapeutic intervention, have a passion for building quality relationships with your clients and their families and be comfortable holding difficult conversations.

- Knowledgeable of and committed to family centred practice.
- Able to provide quality written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
- Experienced in working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and independently.
- Excellent in time management and organisation.

Employment Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in allied health (Psychology, Occupational therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy or Social Work) and registered with the appropriate professional board.
- Completion of 100-point identification check
- Current Australian drivers’ license
- Current Covid-19 Digital Certificate
- Ability to obtain a WA Working with Children Check
- Ability to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check
