About the role

Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner. 

In this role you will: 

  • Provide evidence based interventions specific to the individual needs of children, adults and their families / carers. Interventions would be in response to the presentation and cognitive ability of the individual.
  • Develop tailored treatment / behaviour support plans for referred clients using prior knowledge and research skills. 
  • Complete electronic client notes and reports for sessions to an appropriate standard 
  • Have well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse client group and to effectively communicate with stakeholders in a manner appropriate to the audience.
  • Use your knowledge to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures, ensuring best practice for those you support

 

About you

To succeed in this role, you will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of the clients you support and committed to your professional growth and personal development.

Ideally you will have a degree level qualification in Nursing or as an allied health professional (including but not limited to Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy) and one years’ experience in supporting individuals with complex behaviour needs. 

Additionally, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • The ability to deliver evidenced-based intervention and case management services to individuals with mental health disorders and/ or other disabilities in accordance with the identified needs of the client, observing professional ethical standards.
  • The ability to plan, develop and implement outcome focused individualised treatment plans using a best practice framework with a continuity of care approach. 
  • The ability to work cooperatively and effectively within the multidisciplinary care team (i.e. allied health team, Psychiatrist, General Practitioner, Pediatrician, etc).
  • The ability to prepare professional and timely reports and maintain up to date clinical records in accordance with documentation standards in addition to maintaining current data requirements of the practice.
