Job Overview:

As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner at Enrichment Care, you will play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities through the development and implementation of person-centered positive behaviour support plans. You will work closely with clients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team to create and execute strategies that address challenging behaviours and promote social, emotional, and functional skills development.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional Behavioural Assessments: Conduct thorough functional assessments to understand the underlying causes of challenging behaviours.

Behaviour Support Plans: Develop, implement, and monitor individualised positive behaviour support plans based on evidence-based practices and tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyse behavioral data to track progress, make data-driven decisions, and adjust intervention strategies as necessary.

Client and Family Collaboration: Collaborate with clients and their families to ensure that support plans are aligned with the individual’s goals and values.

Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to clients, families, and support staff to build their capacity in implementing behavior support strategies.

Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations in a professional and effective manner, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.

Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of assessments, plans, and progress reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, such as Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists, to provide holistic care to clients.

Continuous Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in positive behavior support and related fields.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, special education, social work, or a related field.
  • Certification in Positive Behaviour Support or Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
  • Relevant licensure or certification in the state or region of employment.
  • Strong knowledge of behaviour analysis principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
