We are seeking psychologists to join our Positive Behaviour Support team on the Sunshine Coast.

Your Best Life Disability and Health Services Ltd (YBLDHS) is a not-for-profit organisation that provides person-centred services across three businesses

  • Community Services
  • LevelUp Independent Living (LUIL), and 
  • Your Choice Plan Management (YCPM).

Our psychologists sit under the Community Services arm, which supports the following programs 

  • Children’s and Teens’ Therapy Services
  • Mindcare Mental Health Services
  • The Allied Health Collaborative and,
  • WorkFit and Wellness (EAP).
     

About the role 

We are seeking Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners to be based in one of our three community centres in Morayfield, Nambour and Gympie and provide therapeutic supports in the home, school, community and via telehealth to children, teens and adults. 

You will:

  • Utilise evidence-based strategies and client-centred supports that address the needs of the person with a disability and the underlying causes of behaviours of concern.
  • Safeguard the dignity and quality of the life of the people with disability who require specialised behaviour support.
  • Create individualised positive behaviour support plans for people with disability that are responsive to the person’s needs.
  • Reduce and eliminates the need for the use of regulated restrictive practices.
  • Plan interventions and evaluate outcomes.
  • Work in collaboration with families and the therapy team.
  • Deliver evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions, including behavioural, developmental, cognitive, and family systems pedagogies.
  • Maintain client records including goals, assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct and Professional Code of Ethics and Conduct.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following attributes and qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary level qualifications in Psychology and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration. 
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of Psychology to children, teens’ and adults including to NDIS participants.
  • Extensive knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, assessment tools to support clinical reasoning.

 

Mandatory requirements 

  • Working with Children’s Check Blue card
  • Current driver’s license
  • NDIS Workers Screen
  • National Police Check
  • COVID vaccination
  • NDIS Practitioner number (or ability to acquire)
  • Current AHPRA Registration 
  • Medicare Provider number (Generalist) 
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner through the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (for PBSB role)
