JOB DESCRIPTION

The Role

Mercy Community are currently recruiting for two Practice Leads to join our Practice team. These positions are Permanent Full-time roles which will require regular travel to all Mercy Community locations in Queensland. Flexible work from home arrangement is available.

The overall purpose of the Practice Lead is to work alongside teams to support and enhance practice across services in the Families and Young People Team. This role will be working across child protection practice, domestic and family violence, out of home care and the provision of support services to vulnerable children, young people and families. The role will contribute to the development and maintenance of innovative, client-focussed and inclusive practice embedded in research, evidence-based practice and quality outcomes for the people that we support. The successful applicant will undertake or support critical incident reviews and develop and/or support individuals/teams to develop and implement recommendations from these reviews. You will also complete proactive case reviews with a focus on practice and continuous improvement and identification of strategies to promote skill development and learning to enhance the outcomes for the people we support.

This role has the ability to be a hybrid position and offers a competitive annual salary of $120,338 to $125,061 plus superannuation (dependent on qualifications and experience). You can also increase your take-home pay by salary sacrificing and other benefits available.

About you

  • A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Experience in a leadership role delivering practice guidance in the provision of services to vulnerable children, young people, families and communities at both an individual and team level.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the Queensland child protection system and relevant legislation.
  • A demonstrated, evidence-based practice framework for understanding and working with families impacted by domestic and family violence.
  • Highly developed skills and experience in risk and needs assessment, trauma informed practice, safety planning and systems advocacy.
  • Hold a valid Provisional Licence (P2) or above Driver’s License.
  • Ability to gain and maintain all relevant and legislative personal history probity checks.
