The Practice Manager Counselling Services oversees the provision of professional counselling services at Carinity -Talera, as well as managing a multidisciplinary team of counselling and support staff.
Carinity Communities – Talera provides systemic, child-centred, and trauma and attachment informed therapeutic services for children and young people (up to 17 years old) and their protective caregivers, to address issues arising from experiences of abuse, neglect, and/or domestic and family violence.
What do I need for the role?
- Ability to work within the Christian ethos and framework of Carinity
- Relevant qualification(s) in Management required, Social Sciences, Counselling, or similar relevant discipline an advantage
- Experience in the management of a counselling or similar relevant service including financial and operational management
- Understanding of the Child Protection Act 1999, Domestic and Family Violence Act, and other relevant legislation
- Understanding of issues pertinent to child protection, domestic and family violence, youth suicide prevention and promotion of youth mental health
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships and partnerships with community service providers, government departments and families within the community
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team to ensure quality service, equity, team spirit and program development
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write reports and funding applications
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to senior management, staff and service providers, developing positive and professional relationships
- Possession of a current Suitability for Working with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or exemption
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Up to date Covid-19 Vaccination encouraged
