Practice Supervisor – Townsville Act for Kids

Act for Kids is a prominent provider of prevention, professional therapy and support services for children who have suffered abuse and support for families at risk. With over 25 centres nationally, we have supported thousands of children and their families for more than 30 years. In 2021 – 2022 we provided services to 39,002 people, including over 23,000 children.

About the Position

We are looking to welcome a Practice Supervisor to oversee the practice of Intensive Family Support practitioners who provide early intervention and case management services to families that are at risk of entering or re-entering the child protection system. This role is to 31 December 2026 with possible extension, subject to continued funding.

This position is classified Level 6 under the SCHCADS award. Salary range is $102,555 – $107,080 plus superannuation. We offer excellent salary packaging options through RemServ which can significantly increase your take home pay.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead the professional practice of your team and manage a restricted caseload.
  • Be an active consultant in your area of expertise.
  • Regularly attend and participate in case consultations and reviews.
  • Work with and refer to other professionals and stakeholders utilising an ecological model.

About You

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services).
  • Professional registration (if required) and membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
  • At least 5 years’ experience providing case-management and therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in a child protection framework.
  • Relevant experience leading and supervising team members in similar practice related positions.
  • Highly developed communication, problem solving and teamwork skills

Other Requirements

  • Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
