Centacare Family and Relationship Services (CFRS) is a non-profit community organisation that supports the strengthening of family and community relationships, particularly where there is vulnerability and disadvantage. The Role:
  
Centacare Family and Relationship Services is seeking to appoint a full-time Domestic and Family Violence Case Management Practitioner for our Supported Accommodation Program.
  
The role is for a 12 month contract and is based at Fortitude Valley with some outreach across Brisbane.
  
The successful applicant will be a dedicated and experienced Practitioner who has a highly developed practice framework around domestic and family violence. Demonstrated experience in domestic and family violence crisis intervention and family-centered case management for women and children is essential. The role will offer opportunities to support and work with diverse families with complex needs to achieve their goals.
  
  
Essential:
  

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioral Sciences, from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, or similar recognised professional association.
  • Have a current Blue Card – or be eligible to apply.
  • Agree (if offered employment), that Centacare can conduct an Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check.
  • Agree to sign a statutory declaration stating you have no overseas criminal offences.
  • Have Australian Work Rights – Australian citizenship/Visa documentary evidence is to be provided at interview (please contact us for detail if needed).
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination is now required for all roles within the Archdiocese of Brisbane.

  
Skills and Experience:
  

  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in supporting families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated articulation of a well-developed practice framework for domestic and family violence and its nexus, with child safety and skills and experience in intake, risk assessment, crisis intervention and safety planning, including experience in working within an outreach home-based context.
  • Well-developed knowledge, skills and experience in the provision of trauma-informed, solution-focused case management and counselling for women and children impacted by domestic and family violence.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of working within the housing sector with regard to domestic and family violence.
  • Demonstrated applied understanding of the Domestic and Family Violence Act, the Child Protection Act and the Family Law Act.
  • Well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills.

Remuneration:

Remuneration for this position is paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award, with the base salary commencing at Level 5.
