The Organisation:
Centacare Family and Relationship Services (CFRS) is a non-profit community organisation that supports the strengthening of family and community relationships, particularly where there is vulnerability and disadvantage.  Our services are available to the entire community regardless of religion, circumstance, ethnicity, economic situation, age, gender or ability.

The role:
  
We are currently seeking 2 (two) dedicated and experienced Practitioners to join our Brisbane team for 12 month, fixed term contracts. We are offering a full time capacity of 38 hours a week, and a part time capacity role, 4 days/30 hours a week. 
Work hours will be negotiated with the successful applicants. However some flexibility is needed in order to meet business requirements.
  
This is a great opportunity for qualified Practitioners with a background in Family Dispute Resolution, and a good understanding of the family law system who wish to make a positive impact in the community while furthering their career as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP).

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated applied understanding of Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act and the Family Law Act.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the principles and practices of intake and assessment, case management and referral pathways including screening for risk in the areas of child protection, domestic and family violence, suicide.
  • Demonstrated substantial knowledge and experience in working with complex family systems, high acrimony environments, family distress and trauma, mental health problems, drug and alcohol and family law issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of group psycho-educational programs.
  • Well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills.
  • Experience in family counselling and group facilitation (i.e. parenting, children’s programs, etc.) will be highly regarded

 Essential requirements for the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, or similar recognised professional association.
  • Have a current Blue Card – or eligible to apply.
  • Have a current drivers licence.
  • Agree, if offered employment, to Centacare conducting an Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check.
  • Agree to sign a statutory declaration stating that you have no overseas criminal offences.
  • Have Australian Work Rights – Australian citizenship/Visa documentary evidence is. If so, to be provided at interview (please contact us for details if needed).
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Remuneration:
Remuneration for this position is paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award, minimum level at 5.1.
In addition, you will have the option to take advantage of our generous salary packaging options to increase your take home pay.
