Intervention is tailored to meet the individual needs of the young person in the placement by enhancing the carer family’s capacity to meet those needs. Anglicare Foster & Kinship Care aim to maintain the stability of the placement through education, information and support in areas such as attachment and the effects of trauma on a young person, as well as through strategies to address related behaviours.
The Intensive Foster Care Program provides the following activities:
· Carer education and training;
· Behaviour management and placement support;
· In home support;
· Practical and financial assistance;
· Youth worker support; and
· Systemic connection with therapeutic and allied health services.
We are seeking our next Practitioner on a permanent full-time basis based at Eight Mile Plains.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences or similar field
- Previous experience working with Carers including training, recruitment, and onboarding of new carers.
- Demonstrated experience in assessing complex and extreme needs of children & developing and implementing individualized care plans, including in-home support
- An understanding and knowledge of child protection (Children Protection Act)
- Demonstrated experience in training and facilitation of support groups
- Ability to operate within child-centred frameworks within a family-focused network.
- Completion of complex documentation on time and within required guidelines
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children) or willingness to obtain
- Current Licensed Care Service (LCS)
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
- Current COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
