A role with unique responsibilities

As a Genetic Counsellor and Prenatal Lead, you will be responsible for providing genetic counselling services for Monash IVF and Monash Ultrasound for Women clinics. You will also be supporting the genetic counselling team at Sydney Ultrasound for Women. Your day will include:

  • Leading a team of Genetic Counsellors to provide exceptional patient care
  • Providing genetic counselling for patients undertaking genetic testing across various reproductive stages including pre-conception, IVF and prental
  • Educating and informing patients about prenatal genetic screening/testing and PGT processes
  • Liasing with the Genetics Administration Team to arrange appointments and tests for patients as required
  • Preparing work rosters for the National Genetic Counselling Team
  • Providing clinical support and guidance to prenatal genetic counsellors within the Group
  • Ensuring doctors, patients and referrers are provided with exceptional documentation and service quality
  • Collaborating with others to achieve the Monash IVF Group Mission.

  
Are you the ideal candidate for us?

Understanding there are ups and down in reproductive health, the Prental Lead Genetic Counsellor will be sensitive to the needs of patients. Ideally you will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a health science or related discipline
  • Post graduate qualification in Genetic Counselling (essential)
  • HGSA Membership and registrations
  • ASGC Membership
  • Highly skilled in all facets of genetic counselling with a focus on prenatal and reproductive genetics
  • Superior organisation and time management skills with proven ability to multi task
  • Well-developed communication skills including presentation skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Competent user of Monash IVF Group systems
