About the role:
Our Community Alcohol and Other Drug Services (CADS) Program will work hand in hand with the community to ensure a holistic, culturally safe and fully inclusive service is delivered, resulting in better outcomes for individuals, families and the entire community.
As the Prevention Coordinator you will liaise and work with a wide range of government and non-government agencies, professionals, and community groups to progress community action on alcohol and other drug (AOD) prevention and provide support to suicide prevention initiatives.
You will contribute to the development of services across the Pilbara region and to the training of Hope and partners’ staff to ensure they are engaged and across best practice in the AOD prevention field. In this role we need someone who can identify opportunities for representation at key stakeholder forums and be tasked with developing and maintaining appropriate stakeholder relationships within the AOD sector
Requirements of the role:
We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, who reflects and improves on their own practice, working safely and contributing to team effectiveness. Being a person who is has a person-centred, strength-based perspective and empowerment approach will see you do well in this role.
You must have a tertiary qualification in public health, health promotion, health, education or approved equivalent, with experience working in the Alcohol and Other Drug or Mental Health sector. You will have a sound understanding of the public health and health promotion principles to support the implementation of community based AOD and Mental health prevention initiatives.
Your profile will include:
- Current Police Check, no older than 3 months.
- Current Working with Children Check Card.
- Current WA Drivers Licence.
- Covid Vaccination status – Fully Vaccinated
