This position is located at the Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS) in Clifton Hill, 15 minutes from Melbourne’s city centre. CFMHS is a specialist state-wide agency that works with individuals who have a serious mental health illness and have offended or are at risk of offending. Our CFMHS Service is soon to be expanding our services to Regional Victoria with Barwon services the first region being commenced.

 

About the Role: 

  • Provides high level administrative, clinical, and forensic expertise to Forensicare’s court report service.
  • Completes a high standard of court reports for the Magistrates, County or Supreme courts of Victoria.
  • Reviews court report requests and related documentation referred to the Court Reports service
  • Coordinates and/or facilitates training in court report writing and provides supervision for postgraduate psychology students and other psychology staff

Duties:

  • Completes a high standard of court reports for the Magistrates, County or Supreme courts of Victoria.
  • Reviews all court report requests and related documentation referred to the Court Reports service, and liaises with Administration and/or the referrer if appropriate (i.e., Courts, APB, OPP) to resolve any gaps in information and/or other issues that have been identified. 
  • Coordinates and/or facilitates training in court report writing and provides supervision for postgraduate psychology students and other psychology staff. 
  • Liaises with the Director of Psychological Services and Community Forensic Mental Health Services administrative staff in order to schedule court assessments.
  • Participates in identifying issues and developing solutions, suitable for quality improvement activities across Forensicare.
  • Participates in and promotes a culture of evidence based practice.
  • Undertakes quality improvement projects focused upon improving the standards, systems and processes, associated with the provision of court report service

 

About You:

  • Registered as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an APAC accredited course or equivalent, OR Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology from an APAC accredited course or equivalent.
  • Area of Practice Endorsement by AHPRA in the areas of clinical psychology and/or forensic psychology.
  • At least ten years experience in providing a high level of services in forensic mental health and related settings.
  • Listed as an endorsed supervisor with AHPRA.
