About the role

Prison officers are essential to the operation of the prison and play a key part in the success of our prisoner rehabilitation programs. 

Your work will be dynamic and every day will be different. You will: 

  • Be a positive influence on prisoners
  • Support prisoner rehabilitation through case management
  • Protect the safety and security of staff and prisoners

About you

If you’re a good communicator and enjoy achieving positive outcomes, then you have the qualities needed to become a prison officer.

You don’t need set experience or qualifications to start with us. 

Whatever background you’re from – retail, hospitality, construction, healthcare, social work, or community services (to name a few) – your skills are highly valued in the public service sector.
