Private Practitioners (Expression of Interest) – Psychologists/ Accredited Mental Health Social Workers & Occupational Therapists/ Credentialed Mental Health Nurses

headspace is Australia’s leading youth mental health organisation providing early intervention services to young people in over 150 centres around the country.

Barwon Health’s Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Services and Colac Area Health, in collaboration with other local Colac partners, are uniting to deliver a new headspace centre for young people in the Colac/Otway region. 

headspace Colac will be a ‘one-stop shop’ for young people (aged 12-25 years old) in the community with mental health and wellbeing concerns. It provides no (or low) cost, youth friendly, holistic care across the headspace four core streams: Mental Health, physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drugs and vocational training/educational support. The centre prioritises providing and tailoring services to support young people to maintain their wellbeing including providing early intervention to young people who are engaging in risk behaviours or are at risk of developing a significant mental illness.

About the opportunity 

We are inviting experienced Psychologists, Accredited Mental Health Occupational Therapists and Social Workers and Credentialed Mental Health Nurses to join our service at headspace Colac.

You can expect the following from practicing with us:

  • A multidisciplinary team environment with a focus on collaborative care and team support

Your necessary qualification and skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, registered psychiatric nursing  
  • Experience working with clients that are 12-25 years old
  • Have ABN number and professional indemnity insurance
  • Full registration with AHPRA and/or Mental Health Accredited with AASW/ Membership with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses
  • Must be eligible for Medicare claiming
