About the Role

Our Autism & Mental Health Services Project team have an opportunity for an experienced allied health professional (Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work) with expertise in autism, to build capacity of mental health professionals to help better understand and support people on the autism spectrum effectively to achieve their mental health goals. 

The Professional Learning Facilitator will be responsible for developing and delivering autism-specific training for mainstream community mental health professionals. Training will be presented in a range of delivery modes including face-to-face workshops and webinars, to audiences across Queensland, but will not require travel outside South East Queensland.

*Fixed-term part-time opportunity available – 2-3 days per week until February 2023, with possibility for extension.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in either Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in disability, including at least 3 years’ experience working with people on the autism spectrum
  • Demonstrated experience and success facilitating group training
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practices relevant to working with people on the autism spectrum

Special Conditions & Requirements 

  • Evidence of current Covid-19 Vaccination
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance & Blue Card (paid workers)**
  • Provide First Aid inc. Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate
