An exciting opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified and experienced Psychologist/Social Worker/Occupational Therapist/Registered Nurse to join The Geelong Clinic as the Coordinator of the LEAP eating disorder inpatient program.

The Eating Disorder Program (EDP) at the Geelong Clinic one of the most highly respected programs of its kind in Australia, and consumers are waitlisted to participate.

Learning to Eat at Peace (LEAP) is a 40 day inpatient program that has been treating people with all types of eating disorders for more than 20 years. LEAP offers individualized evidence-based treatment that is adapted to the patients’ unique experience and eating disorder concerns.

Both group and individual therapy are offered to patients in LEAP. Weekly groups range in content and approach, including psychology based groups, nutrition, art therapy, yoga and gentle movement, music therapy, as well as mindfulness and relaxation. Fortnightly individual therapy is also offered with a psychiatrist and the LEAP Coordinator.

The LEAP Coordinator will ensure the smooth running of the program including supporting/supervising group facilitators, participating in a weekly ward round with the treating team and providing group therapy where needed. The LEAP Coordinator will work in a multidisciplinary team based approach and be supported by other experienced mental health professionals.

Selection Criteria

  • Appropriate qualifications in Psychology/Social Work/Occupational Therapy/Nursing, including AHPRA registration where appropriate
  • Experience in Eating Disorder Treatment
  • Experience delivering group based and individual therapeutic interventions.

· High level organisation, communication and collaboration skills

· Supervisor qualifications to support training and placement of post graduate allied health student (desirable)
