Connect and Respect is a state wide family and domestic violence intervention service delivering rehabilitation and reintegration services to male offenders through mandated men’s behaviour change groups and individual delivery in community and prison settings with the ultimate aim of enabling a safe and strong community and ceasing the cycle of family and domestic violence.  This is where you come in…

 

About the role

Program Facilitator, Connect and Respect engages men in a court mandated targeted behaviour change process to support immediate, short term and long term behavioural and attitudinal change, and through group education initiatives and/or individual counselling in prisons or community based settings, provides culturally competent rehabilitation and reintegration services to court mandated male perpetrators of FDV.

It is a genuine occupational requirement for this position to be occupied by a female (Section 27 Equal Opportunity Act).

This is a part time (30 hours per week) maximum term contract until Sept 30, 2024. The role co-delivers men’s behaviour change program in Karratha as well as Roebourne prison. 

About you

To achieve success in this role you will have:

  • Significant industry experience with specialist knowledge relevant to family and domestic violence and tertiary qualifications in Human Services (tertiary qualifications will be waived for a candidate of Aboriginal origin with relevant experience)
  • Knowledge and experience of intervention models appropriate to working with FDV perpetrators.
  • Knowledge of the impact of family violence on adult victims, children, young people and communities.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal communities;
  • Ability to facilitate and deliver community education and community development programmes
  • Sound formal report writing skills and experience
  • Experience working with mandated clients would be highly desirable 

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, WA Drivers Licence and be able to obtain a Department of Corrective Services clearance.

Remuneration

  • Full time salary range per annum  of $101,860 – $104,060 plus 11% superannuation (inclusive of a 10% remote localities allowance)
  • Generous rent subsidy benefits up to $15,600 per year following a prior application process subject to terms and conditions
  • Generous tax-free salary packaging benefits
