Our Program Facilitators develop and deliver a range of services to support men and young people who choose to use violence and/or abuse cease their use of these behaviours while maximising the safety of women, young people and children.
Communicare’s Parole in-reach Program can be described as a through-care rehabilitation program. Offenders who have been screened as suitable to enter the program will be assessed and supported through the program based on their assessed risk and needs.
Key Skills & Experience include:
- Ability to develop rapport, be non-judgemental and provide a high level of risk assessment, safety planning, individual and group work, case management to clients.
- Skills in liaising at all levels with other service providers.
- Ability to apply current knowledge of developmental and psychosocial issues to assess clients and refer effectively if deemed necessary.
- Skills in managing difficult group dynamics and potential behaviour escalations
- Demonstrate a willingness to engage in reflective practice that considers a gendered and feminist analysis of behaviours, thoughts, and feelings.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Family and Domestic Violence and working with Family Safety.
- Awareness of risk management and case management principles, particularly in relation to Family and Domestic Violence.
- Understanding of case management principles.
- Principles of harm minimization, social justice, professional ethics, and advocacy.
Selection Criteria:
- 3-year tertiary qualification in the human services field, and or significant experience in the family and domestic violence.
- Unrestricted drivers’ licence
- Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
- Current working with children check card
- Department of Justice integrity clearance (or willing to obtain)
We have 2 roles available – 1x PT (30.4 hours) and 1x FT (38 hours) offered on a fixed term basis to 30 June 2024 (with a possibility to extend)
Located in Fremantle and Perth CBD, with frequent travel to Acacia and Wooroloo Prisons.
