zero2hero is a WA-based youth mental health charity. 

Founded in 2012, zero2hero provides an innovative solution to the current mental health and suicide crisis in Australia. We do this by creating and facilitating programs that allow young people to connect with themselves and each other, to understand their needs and how to ask for help. zero2hero has found a way to connect with young people that is authentic and real. 

THE ROLE

zero2hero requires a skilled facilitator to join our team. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective and safe delivery of school programs and workshops. This role is accountable for the delivery, quality and success of our Schools Programs. 

We are seeking someone experienced in youth program delivery, who is personable, motivated and professional. If you are passionate about mental health and a strong facilitator, this role could be for you. 

Must have demonstrated experience in program facilitation, mental health, and working with young people. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERTISE

  • Must be a highly skilled presenter and great at public speaking
  • Demonstrated experience and excellence in Program Facilitation
  • Behaviour management skills and great at working with children and young people
  • Has a strong attention to detail
  • Works well in a team and is a self-starter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • National Police Clearance no older than 6 months
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Working with Children Check
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint

 

WHAT WE DO

zero2hero offer a range of school programs, camps and events that all aim to educate, engage and empower young mental health ambassadors (or heroes as they are referred to at zero2hero). 

Our schools’ programs offer a range of mental health education and engagement. These can vary anywhere from a 1-hour one-off presentation to 1-hour weekly workshops over several weeks,  or an annual program with teacher/parent information sessions and regular student sessions.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

The successful candidate will be looking to join the team as a level 3 under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award [MA000100]. 

The role is part-time, from 22.5 hours per week to 30 hours per week.
