Do you have a passion for Genetics and Genomic education and would like to make a difference? Do you like working in a collaborative team that strives for high-quality educational outcomes?  An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified person to join the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) as the Program Lead, Genetics Counsellor supporting statewide education.

Where you’ll be working

The role is based at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards – a brand new, purpose-built campus that is well serviced by public transport. The building offers activity-based working with agile and flexible workspaces and the latest in technology, modern end-of-trip facilities, secure bicycle storage. There is an onsite cafe and a 100 space childcare centre opening in October.

What you’ll be doing

The Centre for Genetics Education (CGE) is a trusted educational body dedicated to preparing NSW Health clinicians with the skills and knowledge to confidently manage the increasing role of genetic and genomic healthcare technologies on their practice.

This position is responsible for providing genetics-related advice and creating resources to meet the needs of NSW Health clinicians, in line with HETI objectives. This includes leading a range of educational projects in collaboration with clinical experts and other stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will hold a Genetic Counsellor qualification with the HGSA (Human Genetics Society of Australasia) Board Eligibility or Board Certified with the title of MHGSA or FHGSA (Member or Fellow of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia) and demonstrated high level skills in genetics education and curriculum design, highly effective communication and project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively to achieve outcomes.
