About the Role

This role will lead the MHSPAOD Program Team and hold a significant portfolio of commissioned services; providing operational leadership in the priority areas of Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, Alcohol and Other Drugs including planning, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on programs of work across Brisbane South PHN.

This role will implement significant partnership projects and initiatives in collaboration with Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services, and other key stakeholders, enabling the implementation of the Working Together Differently – Brisbane south mental health, suicide prevention and alcohol and other drug Foundation Plan 2019-2022, ensuring activities focus on the achievement of program goals and contribute to the realisation of the Brisbane South PHN strategy and vision.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Senior level experience in planning and service design or delivery in health or social services relevant to Mental Health. Direct experience in Metal Health sector is an advantage but not essential.
  • Ability to lead and manage high performing teams
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in government policy and initiatives for the Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drugs program area.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex and numerous priorities to meet deadlines in a high demand, fast paced work environment using well developed project management skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills within a complex service environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and the capacity to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex contract oversight and reporting
  • Proven experience in service design and planning, implementation and monitoring, including managing complex projects with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Knowledge and understanding of person-centred care and the emerging role of consumers in the planning, design, delivery and evaluation of health services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary evidence-based approaches to mental health, suicide prevention, and integrated care, including concepts of change management and service co-design
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Positive National Police Check
