ABOUT THE ROLE
As the successful candidate, you will have experience and relevant qualifications in Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs, with a keen desire to effectively manage contracts with our funded providers. As a flexible and confident self-starter, you will have good project management skills and the ability to engage with and build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Joining a cohesive, and supportive Mental Health and AOD team, your role will focus on supporting Mental Health and AOD funded providers within our catchment. Working closely with providers you will ensure contract deliverables are met and you will assist in new and innovative approaches to the commissioning of mental health and AOD services within our region.
In addition to the effective management of contracts, strong stakeholder engagement, you will play a part in building the capacity of providers to work within our existing mental health stepped care model and newly redesigned models of care.
The Program Officer works collaboratively with stakeholders to support the implementation of service development initiatives and SEMPHN’s commissioning framework.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this great opportunity you must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Relevant Mental Health/AOD tertiary qualifications (or equivalent relevant experience in health or MH/AOD industry).
Previous experience in mental health, suicide prevention, AOD and/or public health and/or experience working with a range of health care providers including General Practices, nurses, and Allied Health Providers and consumers.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare quality reports and submissions
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Well-developed interpersonal skills
