Consumers of Mental Health WA (CoMHWA) is the peak body for consumers of mental health services in WA. As a community based not for profit organization, CoMHWA understands, listens, and acts upon the voice of consumers of mental health and the wider community.
About the project
The Peer Pathways Project is a West Australian, Statewide helpline for people with mental health challenges, to find the supports needed to promote mental and physical wellbeing. This is primarily a phone-based service and includes identifying needs and having a comprehensive understanding of the range of services available across the State. About the role
CoMHWA’s Project Coordinator (Peer Pathways) will coordinate and support the Peer Pathways project, focussing on Statewide promotion and developing relationships with relevant stakeholders. The successful candidate will work alongside another Coordinator, and a number of Peer Navigators who will navigate services with individuals over the phone and via email.
This is a contract to 30th June 2023. Part-time position – 60 hours per fortnight. Immediate start.

Essential Selection Criteria
- Lived experience of mental health recovery.
- Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Work qualification or working towards this qualification.
- Demonstrated ability to work with members of the community in ways that foster hope and empowerment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong team orientation and consumer focus.
- Skills in coordination, planning and time management skills relevant to project implementation, including meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities.
- Ability to work autonomously, use initiative and work flexibly as part of a team to accomplish shared goals.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills in order to develop strategies, ideas and opportunities for resolving issues.
Desirable Selectin Criteria
- Counselling or Psychology qualification.
- Experience in working with people across a diversity of backgrounds.
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector.
- Experience in working with people with lived experience of mental health issues.
