Provisional Psychologist and Counsellor The Bright Minds Hub

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Bright Minds Hub in Korumburra needs a Provisional Psychologist (working in addition to placement/5+1) and a Clinical Counsellor to join the team of allied health professionals to provide services to children, adolescents and families in South Gippsland, Bass Coast and surrounds.

This is a great opportunity for provisional psychologists to work in addition to placement or to fulfil their +1 placement hours with a supportive collaborative team. The Bright Minds Hub team works out of a warm, inviting and family friendly clinic in Korumburra. We are super supportive, nurturing, open-hearted and eager to help support families in need and is dedicated to lifelong learning in a supportive environment. 

At The Bright Minds Hub, we have created our business model around something we call The Community Care Framework.  This framework is the heartbeat of The Bright Minds Hub and takes on three components:

  1. The Individual: Access to psychology (assessments/talk therapy), counselling, art and music therapy, creative arts therapies, animal interventions, learning and behaviour interventions and workshops
  2. The Family: Access to psychology (assessments/talk therapy), counselling, art and music therapy, creative arts therapies, Sibling support workshops, Parent training and family therapy. 
  3. The Community: Outreach visits to schools, day care, kindergartens, family homes, professional development opportunities, community programs like The Long Table, Meet The Therapist Day, On site psychology and counselling programs via outreach for local businesses, Open Art Therapy Studio sessions and community support groups.

All administration, invoicing and marketing provided by TBMH.

Drivers licence and car required as outreach visits may be required.

Provisional Psychologists 

  • We are looking for passionate and dedicated early career provisional psychologists to work within a supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • You will have provisional APHRA registration.
  • Opportunities for paid professional development.

  • Able to maintain clear and precise case notes.
  • Previous experience in education or working with children, teens, young people and families highly regarded.

  • NDIS worker screening check and Working with Children check required

Note: We do not provide psychology supervision. This is something you need to organise externally. We can help you to find adequate supervision but it is funded by you. In addition, we have allied health professionals onsite who will be working with you in the team space and weekly peer supervision meetings so you will always feel supported in your career.

Counsellors

  • Note – This is a contractor role. 
  • Must be registered with ACA or PACFA.
  • Fantastic interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
  • Able to maintain clear and precise case notes
  • Previous experience in education or working with children, teens, young people and families highly regarded.
  • EMDR training and trauma experience highly regarded.
  • Previous experience with family violence highly regarded. 
  • Opportunities for paid professional development.
  • Potentially willing to do outreach visits in the surrounding areas for NDIS clients.

  • Excellent pay rate at $60 per hour

Currently we are looking for one provisional psychologist and one counsellor to work two days a week – Monday and Friday. These days are split into two shifts – 9am-2pm/2-7:30pm. At least one of these days would need to include an afternoon/evening session.
