Duties/tasks and responsibilities:

As a Provisional Psychologist / Behaviour Support Practitioner at National Positive Behaviour Support, you will:

Provide mobile and office-based Behaviour Support services, Cognitive Assessments and Psychology to children and adult individuals with a range of diagnoses across various locations within Victoria.

Communicate with key stakeholders and support your clients in this autonomous and rewarding role.

Be supported in a compassionate and multidisciplinary team environment that provides regular clinical supervision and professional development opportunities.

This is a great opportunity to work across a wide range of client cases- We work closely with clients, their families and support network, to develop functional behaviour assessments, and behaviour support plans that can be followed to ensure a reduction of behaviours of concern, a reduction of restrictive practices, and improvement of quality of life

Key Requirements / Selection Criteria: 

  • Relevant qualification in Psychology (for Provisional Psychologists)
  • Current AHPRA Registration (for Provisional Psychologists)
  • Covid 19 Certification  
  • A Valid Driver’s License 
  • Suitability to obtain a NDIS S29
  • Working with Children’s Check
  • NDIS Worker Screen Check

The successful Applicant Will / Key Duties / To succeed in this role: 

  • Use evidence-based treatments with a client-centered focus for rewarding outcomes.
  • Excel in communication and foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including funding bodies, organisations, tradespeople, equipment suppliers and carers/family members.
  • Deliver mobile services to NDIS, HCP and Private Caseloads
  • Conduct assessments and provide strategies for various behaviour’s of concern
  • Exhibit excellent verbal, written, and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrate exceptional report writing abilities to support participant goals and funding, including quality assurance processes for senior therapists.
  • Display effective time management skills.
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal skills and thrive in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Collaborate with your Allied Health Team in case conferences and reflective practice
  • Engage in regular professional development, clinical supervision, and team catch-ups.
