Edmonds psychology is a growing private practise on the Central Coast specialising in working with disabilities and complex trauma. We are looking for full or part time provisional psychologist/ counsellor to join our team at our private practise in Gosford.

Edmonds psychology was established to provide a safe and supportive space that all walks of life can access to receive comprehensive mental health treatment. We have extensive experience working in the child protection, disabilities, and non-government sectors. We provide trauma focused counselling, assessment, and intervention for children, young people, and adults. At Edmonds psychology we provide primary and secondary AHPRA approved supervision and specialist supports to child protection and non-government organisations regarding trauma informed clinical practise, safety planning and high-risk interventions.
About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team and develop their clinical skills within private practice.
New graduates welcome to apply. We provide full AHPRA approved primary supervision and support to complete the necessary requirements to gain full registration as a registered psychologist.
For the right person, the position will be offered as a part time or full position for a 6 month contact with a view of being made permanent. You will hold a varied case load, including counselling, assessment and interventions working across the life span. A strong focus will be supporting you to develop your professional experience and ensuring a supportive learning environment to support you reach your goals as a psychologist.
Experience/ Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology (4 year equivalent)
- You must have provisional registration or full registration as a Psychologist through AHPRA under 4+2 or 5+1 pathways or a person who is a member of the Australian Counselling Association
- Have a genuine commitment and care for the wellbeing of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds
- Knowledge and experience working under therapeutic frameworks and evidenced based clinical interventions (Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Trauma informed practises)
- Minimum 3-6 months counselling experience and/or working therapeutically with individuals
- Experience working with high-risk clinical presentation – suicidality, complex trauma or behavioural issues (desirable)
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities such as autism apectrum disorder, intellectual disability and psycho-social disabilities (desirable)
- Familiarity with undertaking cognitive assessments, behavioural assessments, positive behaviour support and personality assessments or willingness to learn (desirable)
- Ability to work collaboratively with key stake holders: GP’s, DCJ, non-government organisations and families
- Able to maintain high standard of record keeping, confidentiality and report writing in accordance with AHPRA guidelines
- Excellent oral and written communication
- NDIS worker screening check, national police check and working with children check require
