ABOUT THE ROLE

NewPsych is seeking Provisional Psychologists to join the practice and support the growing needs across our two practices in the Newcastle CBD. 

Psychologists play a vital role in ensuring that NewPsych demonstrates its organisational values of Respect,Empathy & Compassion, Connection, Equity,and Excellence in all of our interactions with clients, staff,clinicians, business relationships, and the broader community. At NewPsych we pay particular focus to meeting these values in relation to our clients and referrers.

Provisional Psychologists will be required to provide professional clinical consultations and therapeutic support to individuals to address mental health and well-being needs with support and guidance from their supervisor. NewPsych Provisional Psychologists develop person centered therapeutic care plans using evidenced-based psychology assessments and interventions. Clients are from the Private, NDIS,and EAP services provided by NewPsych. 

 

ABOUT YOU

As a Provisional Psychologist, you will have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Provisional Psychologist
  • A demonstrated integration of psychological theory and practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate ethical and professional standards of conduct and practice required of a psychologist
  • Working with Children’s Check and Police check
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Availability to work mornings (from 8am) and also evenings (to 8pm)
  • Willingness to participate on the on-call clinician roster 

Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

  • Prior relevant clinical experience 
  • Experience working with NDIS clients in the Disability Services Sector
