ICS Child Protection Residential Intervention Services apply needs-based thinking to attachment-focused care within a trauma-informed therapeutic milieu. ICS services work with children, young people and their families (where appropriate) to identify and address therapeutic needs, as well as to support a transition to family-based care settings. The multi-disciplinary team includes Care Practitioners, Residential Coordinators, Program Managers and the General Manager.
About the role
The Intern Provisional Psychologist is responsible for providing clinical services to residential and outreach children and young people in statutory out of home care. This includes the development and review of clinical plans (therapeutic support plans, positive behaviour support plans, individual crisis management plans), clinical assessments and therapeutic interventions, case management tasks, critical incident management, stakeholder engagement and after-hours on-call support, mentoring and training for Care Practitioners on child-specific needs, and facilitating individual and group/family work. The position is required to work directly with children and young people with complex behavioural issues in the residential care setting.
Renumeration – $77,577 per annum with the option of salary packaging plus external supervision costs paid by ICS.

Skills and experience
• Appropriate qualification as required by the QLD Psychologists Registration Board for registration.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in working with children and families, particularly in assisting with the assessment, planning processes and support around the management of children with difficult behaviours.
• Demonstrated intermediate ability to use computer IT systems including MS Word and Excel.
• Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver Licence.
• Possess a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Ability to apply for any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.
• Must be fully vaccinated in line with the ATGA guidelines for COVID-19
