Inhouse Provisional Psychologist Program 
 
Pinnacle Rehab offers a specialised opportunity to assist those going through the process towards general registration. 
 
Within the Psychological Division you will be exposed to the key learning objectives of psychological practice, board approved supervision, professional development and understanding the assessment tasks which will prepare you for the National Psychology Exam.

About your new role 
   
Due to growth across the business and our expanding Psych Division we currently have a new opportunity for a Psychology Graduate (5+1) or experienced Rehabilitation Counsellor looking for more exposure to complex psych claims to join our Newcastle and Central Coast Teams! 
 
Full induction, training, and buddy system provided to set you up for success. Including weekly and monthly team meetings targeted at developing your exposure to different psychometrics. 
   
In your new role you will manage a portfolio of clients with a psychological disorder, creating and monitoring rehabilitation plans and aim to gradually return your clients back to work.  
   
You will develop the skills needed to conduct motivational interviews with clients as well as influencing stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes for your clients. 
 
Looking after a client portfolio, your day will include: 

  • Manage a portfolio of clients with a psychological or physical injury
  • Complete initial & psychometric assessments, identifying suitable goals
  • Identify barriers preventing clients from returning to work
  • Organise appropriate intervention with stakeholders 
  • Providing vocational counselling 
  • Conduct Vocational Assessments
  • Attend medical appointments and structured intervention-based programs with your clients 
  • Complete reports after assessments and meetings 
  • Communicate with medical professionals regarding diagnoses and treatment
  • Facilitate a safe and timely graduated return to work 
  • Document case notes as part of reporting and compliance requirements, applying your clinical judgement to support and guide your clients

About You 

  • Associate or Full membership with ASORC as a Rehabilitation Counsellor
  • Registration with AHPRA as a Provisional Psychologist or Psychologist
  • Car and valid Driver’s license
  • Police check or willingness to obtain a police check prior to commencement
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to work in autonomously and as part of a team
