Provisional Psychologist The READ Clinic

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for dedicated, passionate and ambitious Central Coast provisional psychologists to join us!

With many years experience of helping provisional psychologists gain their full registration, we know what support you need and how to help you become the best psychologist you can be.

Joining the READ Clinic as a provisional psychologist gives you access to industry-leading board-approved supervisors, and a supportive and professional therapy environment, with unsurpassed professional development opportunities right here on the Central Coast.

Benefits

  • Focus on individual therapy sessions and assessments for individuals across the lifespan and diagnostic groups. We don’t do behaviour support plans, so you will be providing therapy rather than completing paperwork.
  • We fund over $15,000 in annual supervision costs to complete your internship program. In addition, you gain access to the knowledge and support of experienced clinicians via our monthly group supervision sessions at no cost to you, and senior clinicians are available to answer questions that you may have at any time.
  • We pay for you to complete your WISC-V, Circle of Security Parenting Program and EMDR 1 courses, worth a total of over $3,000.
  • We understand the importance of a work/life balance and encourage you to take time to pursue your interests outside of work. You can join us as on a full time, part time or reduced hours basis, and working from home is also possible.
  • With over 25 psychologists working from the Clinic, the professional development opportunities are endless!  We encourage you to speak with the other clinicians and gain their insights on their particular areas of interest. Practitioners at The READ Clinic include Professors, Adjunct Professors, PhD candidates, authors, internationally accredited practitioners, and University researchers. We also hold regular fun social events.
  • The Clinic is a great place to grow your career during your internship and beyond! We are one of the largest psychology clinics in Australia, and our commitment to gold standard clinical care and client service is unsurpassed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • We prefer you to work 24 to 32 hours per week as we feel this gives you the most efficient way to proceed through your internship. But if you want to work for fewer hours, we can make it work for you.
  • Obtain and maintain provisional registration with AHPRA
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance to be obtained by yourself (at your cost)
  • Police Check and Working with Children Check to be obtained (paid for by the Clinic)
  • Enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to learn
  • Commitment to evidence-based therapeutic methods
  • Involvement in client-related activities where you are not undertaking direct client contact or professional development
  • Participation in our fun social events so you can get to know the other practitioners in an informal setting
