We have a  position available for a fully registered psychologist to join our awesome team on the Sunshine Coast on a full or part-time (3-5 days per week) basis as an employee or contractor.

Sunshine Coast Psychology Clinic & Perinatal Centre will provide a stable, supportive and secure employment in our well established clinic. We have enjoyed an excellent reputation in the community since 2007. You will be well supported and nurtured in a friendly team environment by people who care for each other, value family and social opportunities .

SCPC is the ideal environment to work, with a team of 10 experienced psychologists and 2 exceptional administration staff at the clinic. We value each other and a healthy life/work balance.  

The clinic has a special interest in working with adults, teens, children and families across the lifespan. We also have an extensive interest and experience in providing treatment to women suffering from perinatal anxiety and depression. 

You will have the opportunity to use and build on your existing skills and knowledge in both individual and group treatment working with variety of  mental health conditions. We have regular team and peer support meetings, and opportunities to meet over lunch and social events. 

You will not be expected to see more than 6 clients per day,  will have time for your case notes and reports, plus a lot of administrative support from our team.

At SCPC you will receive generous remuneration, peer support and excellent administrative support.  Salaried remuneration includes superannuation, annual leave loading, and contribution to the cost of professional development and professional indemnity insurance.   There is also the option for a contractor position if preferred.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provision of individual therapy for for clients dealing with a range of mental health issues
  • Assessments
  • Report writing in relation to assessments, Medicare and NDIS requirements
  • Management of client load, and case notes
  • Ongoing liaison with our client’s management team
  • Participation in team and peer supervision meetings

Selection Criteria for this position:

Essential

  • Demonstrated skill and experience in counselling and case management of clients across the lifespan
  • Understanding and skill to provide evidenced-based psychological interventions
  • A desire to learn and build professional strengths
  • Ability to effectively engage, establish rapport and retain clients
  • Strong record management, report and case note taking skills
  • Ability to manage caseload independently but collaboratively in team environment
  • Strong ethical principles and values
  • Sense of humour
  • Full registration as a Psychologist, an experienced Provisional Psychologist will be considered
  • Management of own professional development
  • Eligibility for Medicare Provider Number
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance

Desirable but NOT essential

  • Experience working with children and adolescents
  • Psycho-educational, autism and ADHD assessment  experience
  • Circle of Security training
  • Available to start in Dec 2023-Jan 2024
