JOB DESCRIPTION

Independence Australia is for you! Paying $110,000 + 10.5% super + generous salary packaging benefits, this must have role is ready for the right person to sink their teeth into. This exciting role encompasses the following:

  • Conduct individual client assessments
  • Plan and implement appropriate psychological intervention (including crisis intervention) and/or referrals as appropriate
  • Deliver evidence based & family centred Clinical Psychology assessment,
  • Counselling, & therapy services for NDIS & TAC participants via telehealth and face-to-face service delivery
  • Working with families using a bottom up, holistic, and collaborative approach  
  • Maintain secure and accurate program and client records in line with APS requirements
  • Implement individualised treatment programs which are holistic, client centered, evidence-based and collaborative
  • Undertaking psychometric testing
  • Evaluating client responses to treatment over time
  • Assessing clients’ risk, considering their mental health and social needs when performing interventions
  • Facilitating one-on-one and group counseling/ support.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Psychologist registration with AHPRA – Psychology Board Australia and postgraduate qualification in clinical or health psychology
  • Registration as a Medicare provider
  • NDIS worker screening check
  • Membership with APS, ACA, or AAPi
  • Maintain adequate Professional Indemnity and Liability Insurance
  • Demonstrated operational experience in psychology and community partnership services within the principles of NDIS, TAC and DHHS
  • Proficiency in conducting individual client assessment, plan and implement appropriate psychological intervention (including crisis intervention), counselling, and/or referrals as appropriate
  • High level of communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to consult, liaise, and negotiate with consumers, carers, family members, members of the general community, TAC, Insurance Companies, and other professionals
  • Competent in secondary consultation to other professionals in the sector regarding the ongoing management of consumer needs and workplace challenges
  • Competent in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other clinically informed intervention approaches and standardized assessments
  • Experience using Microsoft applications and electronic client management data base applications
  • Current driver’s license
  • Triple COVID vaccination.
