Where you’ll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you’ll be doing
 

The primary purpose of this position is to engage consumers of WSLHD Mental Health Services with severe and complex mental illness into the recovery process and provide clinical assessments, and individual and group psychological interventions to help facilitate their recovery.

This includes provision of psychological services in various locations across the LHD as required in both hospital based and community based services. This further requires working within the multidisciplinary teams in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.

Essential Criteria:

Qualification: Successful completion of a PBA recognised undergraduate degree in Psychology including completion of Internship.

Registration: Current full registration with AHPRA, PBA Psychology Board of Australia
 

Selection Criteria

  1. Relevant tertiary level qualifications in psychology and current full registration in NSW with the Psychology Board of Australia and AHPRA
  2. Demonstrated skills and experience in working with people recovering from severe and complex mental health conditions and their families
  3. Demonstrated evidence based skills in the provision of assessment, formulation and group and individual treatment for people with diagnoses of severe and complex mental health conditions
  4. Demonstrated skills and experience in working with and supporting families and carers of consumers diagnosed with severe and complex mental health conditions
  5. Demonstrated skills in effective interpersonal communication, advocacy and negotiation
  6. Able to work as an effective team member within a multi-disciplinary team.
  7.  Able to work autonomously, manage time well and prioritise workload
  8. Current NSW Drivers Licence
