Psychologist/Mental Health Social Worker /Counsellor/Play Therapist The Psychology Hub

JOB DESCRIPTION

About us

-We are a medium sized, well established, psychology, counselling and social work practice in North Lakes. 
-We are surrounded by shops, cafes and a medical precinct
-We have free parking
-We have lakes and parks and ducks close by 
-While biased, we think our present team is pretty fab and we are looking for a personable extra special practitioner to join our team on a part-time to full-time contractual basis (we can accommodate week days, weekends, and evening hours)

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING:

Assessment Psychologist 

  • Assessor/diagnostician to conduct autism (including reassessments and second opinion), ADHD, and learning disorder assessments (child and/or adults)
  • IQ testing
  • Functional capacity assessments (desirable)
  • School readiness assessments (desirable)

AND/OR

Therapist-Psychologist or Mental Health Accredited Social Worker

  • Provide therapy for a range of presenting mental health difficulties/differences (practitioners choose their caseload including determining the age and presenting issue of the patient)
  • Provide support under Medicare
  • Provide support under NDIS (desirable)

Counsellor/Play Therapist

  • Provide therapy to children for a range of presenting mental health difficulties/differences 
  • Provide support under NDIS (required)
  • Provide support under private health (where applicable)
  • Provide support to private paying clients 
  • Provide Couples Counselling (desirable) 

Other:

We are particularly keen to hear from qualified practitioners who have an interest in the following areas: chronic health, diabetes, PTSD  (EMDR trained), eating disorders and couples counselling (e.g., Gottman Method)

Qualifications/Experience

  • Relevant qualifications in Psychology (general or endorsed, no Provisionals sorry). AHPRA registered or 
  • Social Work (with mental health accreditation). AASW and AMHSW or
  • Masters level counsellor (ACA level 3 or above, PACFA certified clinical level) or 
  • APTA registered Play Therapist
     

If providing assessment (psychologist only):

  • ADOS 2 trained (desirable)
  • Experience with IQ tests and tests of achievement (e.g., WISC, WAIS, WPPSI, WIAT etc)
  • MIGDAS 2 trained (desirable)

If providing assessment and/or therapy:

  • Medicare registered (psychologist and social workers)
  • Solid report writing skills
  • Experience using practice management software (we use Halaxy)
  • Computer and email proficiency (this role requires some administration)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work autonomously is a must
