About us

JumpStart Therapy Bathurst, provides diagnostic assessment and therapy services for children, young adults & families with a range of mental health issues and developmental differences. We have a multidisciplinary team (Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Dietitian & therapy assistants) to offer a broad range of services to families & young adults.  It is a well respected practice in high demand, due to the quality and range of services provided. We offer a range of therapeutic modalities in order to best support the development of each individual. JumpStart Therapy provides individual therapy, parent- child dyad therapy, parent coaching, group therapy, family therapy and consultation to schools and community organisations. Qualifications & experience

  • APHRA- Registration as a Psychologist, OT, or AASW registration as a Social Worker or full ACA membership as a degree qualified Counsellor, ANZACATA membership, with additional training in art therapy 
  • Working With Children Check clearance.
  • Valid Aus drivers licence with access to vehicle preferred
  • Experience assessing and providing therapy for children and adolescents desirable.  A passion for supporting the development of children, teens and young adults’ social and emotional wellbeing so they can thrive!
  • Available for some after school appts.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Providing assessment & therapy services for children, teens, families & young adults with mental health, developmental and behavioural difficulties. 
  • Providing individual therapy and group therapy ( face to face & Telehealth), utilising trauma informed practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaboratively plan and coordinate individualised therapy for young people and families.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills & good time management skills. Writing assessment & progress reports, keep accurate progress notes. 
  • Ethical, reliable and motivated to grow your expertise and reputation longer term within the practice. 
  • Participating in regular supervision/mentoring meetings where expanding our knowledge is celebrated.
  • Liason with allied health staff, GP’s, Paediatricians, NGO’s to ensure all patients receive well coordinated care
