The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist – Senior (Mental Health – Adolescent Day Program) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide efficient, responsive and recovery orientated mental health care in a variety of hospital and community settings
- Contribute to the development of clinical practice procedures and protocols, for both the discipline and the multidisciplinary team, that support the continuum of care for consumers and families
- Deliver high level specialised clinical advice and reports, and work collaboratively with team members and other relevant agencies to provide multidisciplinary assessment and intervention for Mental Health Specialist Services consumers
- Provide clinical supervision and continuously develop and support staff and students within your profession and/or specialty area or as delegated
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Psychology (or equivalent)
- While not mandatory, possession of post-graduate qualifications (e.g. Masters Degree, DPsych, PhD) from a relevant accredited psychology training programme or equivalent would be well regarded.
- AHPRA Registration
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against – Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $119 651 – $128 751 per annum

The Adolescent Day Program is part of the state-wide Child and Youth Mental Health Service continuum of care providing specialist, multidisciplinary assessment and integrated treatment for adolescents with severe, persistent mental illnesses which results in severe psychosocial impairment. The Adolescent Day Program operates on the premise that young people can and do recover from mental illness. Based in Robina.
