Salary: From $109,553 – $121,901 p.a. (HEW Level 8) (Pro-Rata for part time hours), plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading

The Role
This Psychologist (Student Wellbeing) position is projected to start in February 2023.
In this role, you will provide clinical psychological services to student clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of appropriate, evidence-based clinical interventions for students, based on assessments and care planning recommendations
- Coordinate the delivery of counselling and psychological services by Student Wellbeing,
- Adherence to clinical procedures and protocols by allied health services staff related to counselling and psychological services.
- Partnering with different areas of the organisation, and key stakeholders such as student accommodation providers, develop education and training, and provide advice regarding supporting students’ wellbeing needs via learning activities and curriculum, and embedding support for student wellbeing within systems and processes
- Contribute towards improvements to protocols for clinical service delivery and support within a stepped / staged care framework.
- Provide high level support to individuals and groups on mental health issues, diagnosis and clinical therapies / interventions.
- Identify the need for, and refer clients to other relevant internal or external allied health or community services. At times, co-ordinate referral of students to appropriate external service providers (such as local mental health service; emergency services)
- Provide expert advice and support to key stakeholders to implement case management plans and interventions and manage complex cases involving perceived risk to self or others.
- Identify, evaluate, escalate, and report on potential clinical risks.
- Collaborate with and provide expert advice to other Student Wellbeing staff members on escalated and/or complex cases.
- Comply with relevant EEO and WHS regulations
- Perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification.

Selection Criteria
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to practise as a General or Clinical Psychologist
- Demonstrated experience delivering short-term, evidence-based psychological interventions to clients of diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge and experience of psychological service delivery for students in the context of the higher education system in Australia.
- Knowledge of university governance, policy, and procedural frameworks.
- Expertise in developing and implementing support strategies and programs for students.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex issues, formulate solutions, communicate key finding to stakeholders and exercise sound judgement.
- Expertise and experience executing student wellbeing projects and programs.
- Experience providing excellence in wellbeing oriented customer services to clients
- Experience contributing to continuous service improvement and transformation initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, together with proven ability to skilfully influence, negotiate and motivate people and develop effective working relationships with senior managers, executive staff, academics, and students.
- Ability to build and manage productive strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
