If you want to work with first responders or in the area of performance psychology, we want to hear from you! All psychologists are welcome to apply but we have a very specific and exciting opportunity for someone wanting to grow in these two niche areas. 

About the Opportunity

There is an opportunity to become our newest Psychologist, either In House or Telehealth. 

We truly believe in delivering the most innovative service to clients and making sure our Psychologists enjoy the tricky job we do! This role would suit someone with a desire to venture into private practice without the risks and challenges of setting up their own. 

About Us

SWITCH Psychology is arguably the most progressive practice in Newcastle and the Hunter. However, we still operate like a warm, fun, and friendly small private practice. We currently have 8 Psychologists, with varied endorsements including clinical and sports psychology, and an amazing administration team. We have expertise in progressive Psychology like QEEG Brain Mapping, Brain Training (Neurofeedback Therapy), other biofeedback methods, and EMDR Therapy but you certainly don’t have to. We will support your chosen area of work and growth!

Responsibilities

  • Providing evidence-based therapy or assessment across the lifespan or within your chosen client group.

Qualifications & Experience

  • AHPRA registration as a Clinical Psychologist or Registered Psychologist
  • Experience in psychological assessment and treatment
  • Commitment to ongoing growth and professional development
  • Willing and competent to engage treating teams and complete reports as required. We will help you navigate this!
  • Medicare provider number (or eligibility for such)
  • Work Cover provider number (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working under other current schemes such as CTP, NDIS, or Lifetime Care
  • EMDR training or other modalities relevant to your areas of interest.
