About us

The Self Centre is a well-established business, which originated as a sole-practice under the name ‘Lyndsay Babcock Psychology’ and quickly grew to become a group-practice now known as ‘The Self Centre’, which is now in its 8th year.

Director Lyndsay Babcock has been in private practice for over 15 years and offers guidance and support to those wanting to grow their practice at The Self Centre.

Our in-house Clinical Team Leader offers ongoing clinical support and peer supervision.

We have a strong local referral base, and are conveniently located in the heart of Sydney’s Lower North Shore.   We mainly work with adults, but we also have team members who enjoy working with children and offering formal assessments.

Our location offers convinces of bus and train access, plenty of on-street and long-term parking, as well as the being very near to the new Sydney Metro station due to open soon in Crow Nest.

The area offers many lifestyle perks for client and psychologist both, with local parks, plentiful cafes for lunch and coffee breaks, and the best gelato on the north shore!

Over the years, we have spoken to a lot of clinicians about what they desire in their dream roles and we have incorporated this into our model of private practice.
