We currently have contractor vacancies for experienced clinicians with oncology experience to provide mental health support to clients, carers and those who have lost a loved one to cancer.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The purpose of this positions is to provide personalised psychological support to those touched by cancer.  You will be an important part of the multi-disciplinary team delivering holistic care to the most important people at our wellness centre in Buderim. 

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is a consultancy role with reception support to ensure efficient client referrals, appointment booking and payments, including Medicare and health fund processing. With our nurse-led model of care you will never feel on your own caring for complex families.  You will be part of a team with clinical nurses, therapists and allied health practitioners working together to provide wholistic care. We work as a collaborative team to ensure individualised care is provided in a nurturing and healing environment.  You will have a genuine warmth, sensitivity and a compassionate approach to client care.

We are seeking applicants who have training and experience delivering psychological interventions to people impacted by cancer and are eligible to register for a Medicare Provider number.  We also encourage recent graduates with relevant training and/or experience in working with people facing serious health challenges.

ESSENTIAL ROLE CRITERIA:

  • Registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
  • Eligibility to register for a Medicare Provider number
  • An ABN and Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Understanding the psychosocial impact of cancer on individuals, partners, and families and experience in the provision of;
    • clinical, and/or health psychology or counselling, preferably in oncology settings
    • evidence-based telephone and/or face-to-face psychological or counselling interventions
    • psychosocial support for those experiencing bereavement, grief and loss.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage administrative tasks including case notes, letters to referrers, report writing, and working in accordance to Medicare requirements
  • The ability to work autonomously and a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional supervision and professional development.
