We are looking for a Psychosocial Recovery Coach to join the Clinical Support Team. Reporting to the General Manager – Participant Services, you will support Mai-Wel participants in a comprehensive and tailored way to achieve goals as a part of their own unique psychosocial recovery process.
Drawing on lived or learned experience in health and wellbeing, overcoming adversity, and building personal resilience and in collaboration with other community partner organisation, this role is to safely promote a sense of hope and optimism to deliver the best possible comprehensive service to participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise evidence-based practice to draw on a strength based, coaching approach which aims to enhance participant autonomy and wellbeing
- Provide support to participants to increase their independence, social participation, and economic participation so they can take more control of their lives and to better manage complex challenges of day to day living
- Assist participants to build on their formal and informal supports and provide useful practical resources that will assist them in managing their wellbeing in the future
- Function within a collaborative team approach, including the broader system of supports to ensure supports are recovery orientated
- Openly accept support, supervision, and opportunities to reflect upon practice and access comprehensive training and development, including but not limited to 20 hours of professional practice supervision every 12 months
- Understands the episodic nature of mental illness and collaborates with relevant services to plan and maintain engagement through periods of increased support needs
- Work collaboratively with participants to provide regular feedback and reports to the NDIS including progress towards recovery goals, fund utilisation, linkages to services (including clinical supports if relevant) changing needs and circumstances, and other relevant issues
- Must be able to respond to increased support needs and this means being available to work outside of standard business hours from time to time
- Assists with building and maintaining recovery-enabling relationships with stakeholders

Essentially you will have the qualifications and experience required to succeed in this role:
- Understand psychosocial disability and recovery
- Understand contemporary practice, including trauma-informed, supported decision making and family inclusive practice
- Interpret complex information to provide expert counsel and/or advice
- Continuous improvement, change methods and manage variables
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite
- Certificate IV Mental Health, Community Services, other related health field or working towards or related qualification plus demonstrated knowledge competence/experience
- Demonstrated commitment to continual professional and personal development
- Experience in mental health related environment through lived, learnt, shared or employment
- Experience working with practice supervision, reflective practice to enable self-reflection and ongoing learning
