Steele Supports is a Disability & Mental Health Service in Geelong.
We provide support in Recovery Coaching, Support Coordination and facilitating Mental Health Group programs.

We are a small business made up of 2 people currently and looking for a like minded Psychosocial Recovery Coach, with Mental Health industry or lived experience to join us!
A Psychosocial Recovery coach is designed to support individuals with a psychosocial disability to take more control of their lives and to better manage the complex challenges of day-to-day living.
Recovery Coaches work with individuals with a psychosocial disability to:
- Develop a recovery-enabling relationship
- Increase awareness of choice and control
- Identify individual goals and develop strategies to achieve them
- Provide ongoing support and engagement (even in times of increased needs due to variation in mental illness)
- Build capacity, increase recovery skills, resilience & decision making
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide coaching to individuals to build capacity, decision making, motivation and resilience
- Work collaboratively with families, paid supports, and other services to design, plan, implement and review a recovery plan and assist with the coordination of NDIS and other supports.
- Link participants to mainstream or community services as well as broader support systems
- Coaching the individual to increase recovery skills and personal capacity, including motivation, strengths, resilience and decision-making
- Develop and maintain an individual recovery plan, which complements the NDIS plan, by clarifying and breaking down goals to short term objectives, articulating strengths and identifying barriers.
- Maintain engagement with the participant and supports during periods of increased support needs
- Reporting as per NDIS requirements
Essential that you have or the ability to obtain:
- Experience working in Mental Health
- Experience working in the Disability Industry
- NDIS Disability Worker Screening (this can be applied for on securing position on)
- WWCC
- Police Check
- Current drivers’ licence
- Access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Be able to provide your own Laptop and Phone to use
Highly desirable
- Experience as a Recovery Coach or NDIS Support Coordinator
