The Opportunity:

The role of the Psychological Safety and Wellbeing Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation and continuous improvement of an annual plan that fosters strength of relationships, employee wellbeing and a positive and productive environment. The role will lead the charge and act as a master collaborator, connector and advisor to the organisation on wellbeing and psychosocial risk interventions in helping to create a psychologically safe and well workplace.

Roles and responsibilities: 

  • Drive the design, development, and implementation of contemporary psychosocial risk management strategies and initiatives, that foster and maintain healthy working environments and culture.
  • Collaborate and partner with key specialist areas such as leadership, learning and development, work health and safety.
  • Provide advice and solutions on matters relating to psychological safety and wellbeing.
  • Act as a business champion for psychological safety and wellbeing initiatives, collaborating with key stakeholders and enablers where required.
  • Monitor and report on psychological safety and wellbeing initiatives and deliverables to demonstrate ROI and impact.
  • Utilise key insights to inform decision making and future planning.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders and providers that act as enablers to psychological safety and wellbeing.
  • Proactively identify risks and areas of exposure as they relate to psychological safety and wellbeing.

What we’re looking for 

  • Postgraduate qualifications in psychological or health sciences, with extensive industry experience OR extensive management experience and proven management expertise OR a relevant combination of experience and education/training.
  • Proven experience in managing psychosocial risks, providing services and referrals to mental health support, and implementing staff wellbeing initiatives.
  • Extensive practical experience in conducting risk and/or clinical assessments, analysing data, and applying evidence-informed interventions.
  • Expert knowledge in mental health, psychosocial risk management, suicide prevention, complex case management and psychological first aid.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing complex cultural initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of creative and innovative strategic wellbeing responses.
