Position Overview

The RFT Team Leader role is responsible for oversight of a distinct recovery program as funded by the Drug and Alcohol Directorate. This includes the leadership of a group of employees providing recovery support services, the assessment and acceptance of referrals from the MRP, overall program management, case note reviews and incident investigations. This role works collaboratively with the recovery manager to provide information back to the funder as well as fulfil service agreement directives. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provision of quality professional supervision utilising the PASE model of professional supervision.  
  • Monitor consumer progress, including crisis intervention and managing and reviewing incidents as they occur. 
  • Overseeing the completion of Recovery Star reviews and recovery action plans.  
  • Recruiting, inducting, line managing and providing professional supervision for program employees and managing performance development and review process. 
  • Managing on site budgets and expenditure. 

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Understanding of the mental health sector within Tasmania.
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health, or equivalent qualifications and experience in mental health.
  • Ability to apply the principles of recovery and client-centered delivery in the mental health sector.
  • Previous experience managing a small program and/or leading a small team, or demonstrated ability to acquire the skills required.

Desirable

  • Diploma level or higher qualification in management.
  • Previous experience with, or capacity to acquire knowledge of, the role of peer workers in mental health.
