Recovery Worker – Active Recovery Team MIFWA (Mental Illness Fellowship of WA)

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Recovery (or Peer) Worker that is resourceful and committed to join our Active Recovery Team based out of Fiona Stanley Hospital. 

The position is .8FTE contract until June 30th 2024 (Level 2 SCHADS Award). Must be available Tuesday, other days are flexible.

Walk alongside people affected by mental health issues in a way that is meaningful to them and support them to create a better life.

HOW YOU WILL HELP US GET THERE

You will engage with young people experiencing mental health challenges and offer practical support to assist with their personal recovery, building independence and achieving their goals. You will build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders within the hospital and community setting across the Perth Metropolitan area.

THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You have a lived experience of mental health (desirable)
  • You have a current drivers license and a reliable vehicle and willing to travel within the Perth Metropolitan area
  • You are a people person and passionate about making a positive difference.
  • You are flexible and adaptable and have outstanding time management skills.
  • You can be creative and persistent to keep connected, even when someone is considered hard to get to know or having a bad day.
  • You can be relied on to be on time every time and you follow through and take responsibility for your actions.
  • You welcome challenges and see them as an opportunity to be creative.
