About Us

Minded Psychology is a growing private practice in Beaumaris with an established network of referral sources.  We currently have purpose built and beautifully styled rooms available for a passionate registered psychologist or experienced therapist/counsellor, who would like to work alongside incredibly lovely, fun, and experienced colleagues. Alternatively, work from anywhere in Australia via telehealth. This option would allow you to work from the comfort of your home, while receiving a full caseload of clients, having the support of a multidisciplinary team, and having all administration done for you. 

Minded Psychology treats the health issues of clients by investigating the messages behind their symptoms. Work alongside an already established group of skilled psychologists. Therapy at Minded Psychology focuses on identifying unconscious unmet needs and helps the client (and where appropriate their family) meet those needs, so long-term healing can occur. 

Minded Psychology uses a person-centred approach (including but not exclusively Emotion-Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory) to help clients improve their level of functioning, ensuring they feel empowered in the process. We look closely at the relationship between the mind and body, so lifestyle factors such as movement and nutrition are also important.

Minded Psychology values a collaborative approach so we are seeking like-minded allied health practitioners to join our client’s wellness team. Practitioners are also encouraged to work closely with their client’s network, including specialists and/or schools. 

Joining Minded Psychology you will become part of our ‘work family’ and have access to professional support including mentoring, weekly peer supervision, training/PD, quarterly team meetings at the Gin Dispensary Bar  on the corner, and countless laughs/debriefs in our shared lunch space. It is standard practice to keep 130-230pm free from client bookings so we all have a daily opportunity to connect. Our team consists of friendly and skilled psychologists who have so much experience and skill to offer. 

You will also receive appropriately matched referrals (people and presentations that you love working with) and administration assistance so all you’ll need to focus on is your client work. 

Minded Psychology administration ensures that each client is allocated a regular session time. This means that you will have a manageable caseload, while also promoting continuity of care, which leads to better client outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be supported to maintain a healthy work-life balance. We value the health of our practitioners as a priority. We believe that if you are healthy and happy at work and in your personal life then you will be best equipped to provide your clients with the very best care. We support breaks and time for case de-briefing amongst your peers. 

Your capacity to earn will depend on years of experience and includes  superannuation. Our financial structure allows you to benefit from a group private practice setting, while also receiving remuneration equivalent (if not better) to running your own solo private practice, without administration responsibilities, the expense/stress of running a business, marketing, maintaining referrals, and having to work in an isolated environment. 

Minded Psychology offers flexible hours and the potential to increase your client load/days over time.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• A specialty in person-centred model of treatment is advantageous.
• A speciality in child, adolescent, parent and family-focused psychological treatment is advantageous.
• Relationship building skills based on genuine care and empathy. 
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with your client’s family and/or other relevant professionals (when appropriate).
• Willingness to work collaboratively with your team, honouring the mind-body connection
• Strong work ethic, reliable and effective time management and organisational skills.
• Timely report and letter writing skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Registration with AHPRA
• Membership with AAPi or APS (psychologists) or alternative governing body for your industry
• Professional Indemnity/Malpractice Insurance & PL
• ABN or ACN
• Eligibility for a Medicare Provider Number

• Regular training and case review is also provided. Research interests and external professional development training are actively shared amongst practitioners.
• You will have an opportunity to increase your income each year you work with Minded Psychology. 
• Your percentage of earnings match your level of experience and include superannuation.
• Superannuation is paid as an inclusive benefit and is due to increase to 12% by 2025.
• Your business expenses are nil.
