This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced counsellor, who is passionate about providing high-quality relationship counselling services to individuals, couples, families, and children.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Relationship Counsellor to join our Greater Sydney team. This role will provide high-quality relationship counselling services with clients, including families, couples and individuals, with an emphasis on the impact of the presenting issues on the family and/or relationship. This role will also facilitate group programs, seminars, and workshops, and provide case planning and management processes with clients and stakeholders internally and externally. This role will also conduct child counselling and consultations, where required and appropriately qualified.
Along with relevant qualifications, your passion and experience for providing high-quality relationship counselling services, reflective practice and good foundational skills in using technology – including a client management system and Zoom will see you succeed in this role.
This position will be required to deliver face to face relationship counselling services at our Caringbah office. As this position is required to provide in-person services, you are required to be fully vaccinated and stay up to date with vaccines to comply with Interrelates vaccination policy.
This position can be permanent full time or part-time, with the flexibility to negotiate your days of work and hours, up to 37.5 hours per week. However, will require one evening shift per week, until 8pm.
This role is SCHADS award Level 5, the current hourly rate is $48.53ph. The base annual FTE salary for this position will be $94,633.50pa + 10.5% superannuation & Access to NFP Salary Packaging Benefits.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
1. Relevant Qualifications:
Half a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related discipline; or a Graduate Diploma in counselling, community service or equivalent, in addition to a Bachelor degree that is not a related discipline.
2. Demonstrated experience and skills in:
- delivering counselling services to one or more of the following – individuals, couples, families and children
- case work with clients, implementing and supporting case plans
- facilitating groups, seminars, and workshops
- solutions focused and interpersonal communication skills
- report writing, case notes, data collection, and data entry
- working with online systems and technology, such as a CRM (Client Relationship Management) System and Zoom.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of:
- the process and purpose of child inclusive practice
- the issues facing diverse communities, including ATSI, CALD, and remote communities
- the impact of family separation and breakdown on children, and having skills in managing high parental conflict whilst upholding the best interests of children
- child development, child protection, mandatory reporting, suicide prevention/intervention, and family violence issues
- trauma informed principles
- community services, especially those relating to families experiencing relationship difficulties
- the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act, and other relevant legislation
- family law processes and terminology (for those staff providing child consult services)
